What's New for the 2020 Chevy Silverado?

The 2020 Silverado is the best version of the popular Chevrolet pickup truck to date. Engine upgrades and more technology are the highlights of the latest Silverado new features. The 2020 Silverado is available in eight trims, including the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country trim levels.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2020?

More than half of the 2020 Silverados trims will be available with the 6.2L V-8 engine, which produces 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Custom Trail Boss and the LT Trail Boss include a 2-inch factory suspension lift and a Z71 Off-Road package with locking rear differential, skid plates, Rancho monotube off-road shocks, and 18-inch wheels.

The Custom Trail Boss includes a 6.2L V8 engine and will be the most affordable light-duty truck currently available on the market with more than 400 horsepower. The 6.2L V-8 is also available on RST models that are equipped with four-wheel drive. This combination propels the 2020 Silverado to the top of its class in towing capacity with a maximum of 13,400 pounds. The 6.2L V-8 is also available as part of a performance upgrade package which adds a performance air intake and cat-back performance exhaust, which increases output to 435 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

2020 Chevy SilveradoA 4.3L V-6 engine comes standard on the Work Truck, Custom, and Custom Trail Boss trims. These trim levels may be upgraded to a 5.3 L V8 engine. The Custom Trim may also be upgraded to include a 2.7L turbo engine with an 8-speed transmission. The 2.7L turbo engine with 8-speed transmission is standard on the LT and RST trims, which may be upgraded to include a 5.3L V-8 engine with 8-speed transmission. The RST trim may be upgraded to include a 3.0L I-6 diesel engine.

A 5.3L V-8 engine with the 10-speed transmission is standard on the LT Trail Boss trim, which may be upgraded to a 6.2 L V8 engine with 10-speed transmission. On the LTZ and High Country models, the 5.3-L V-8 engine with 8-speed transmission is standard. The LTZ may be upgraded to include a 2.6-L V-8 engine with 10-speed or a 3.0-L I-6 turbo diesel engine, and the High Country, the Silverados highest trim level, may be upgraded to include a 5.3 L V8 engine with 10 speed transmission, a 6.2L V-8 with 10-speed transmission, or a 3.0-L I-6 turbo diesel engine with 10-speed transmission. The diesel engine is also available in the LT and RST trims.
