Airflow is sent through two different scroll shapes that are opposite of the turbine wheel. This allows for avoidance of interference.

The new engine option for the 2019 Chevy Silverado includes cylinder deactivation on two of the cylinders. There is also dynamic cam timing that is based off of various power needs. Three different lift profiles are available as part of the Tri Power lineup that includes low-power, high-power and deactivation. An electric water pump will reduce any drag that is present on the power system.

There is also a V8 engine option that features the newest Dynamic Fuel Management system. This includes cylinder deactivation with 17 different profiles. These changes can be made every 12.5 milliseconds to adapt to driving conditions.
