What's New for the 2018 Chevy Corvette?

The Chevy Corvette, America's all-time bestselling 2-seat, sports car receives some minor tweaks for 2018. This iconic American muscle car now comes standard with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear aluminum wheels and high performance Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires. This year's Corvette also receives five all-new wheels choices, new interior and exterior colors and HD radio now is included standard on all models.

To commemorate Corvette's 65th anniversary, Chevrolet released the limited edition Carbon 65 Edition Corvette, featuring Ceramic Gray exterior paint with blue door and fender accents. Limited to just 650 models, this ultra-stylish Corvette is fitted with carbon fiber panels throughout the car's interior and exterior that is accentuated by black machined aluminum Carbon 65 wheels and exclusive limited edition body modifications throughout the car.

Trim Differences

The legendary Corvette is available in four distinct trims: the Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1. Each trim comes in three different option packages with an array of state-of-the-art premium features and is available in either a coupe with removable carbon fiber roof panel, or a convertible that electronically deploys and retracts the top, at speeds of up to 30 mph. Although it's only a 2-seater, this picturesque speedster more than makes up for it with best in class cargo room and a spacious luxurious interior for maximum comfort while tearing up the track or grinding out the daily commute.

The Stingray and Grand Sport models are equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 LT1 engine, while the Z06 and features a supercharged version of the V8 LT1 direct-injected motor. Both engines are available in 7-speed manual with Active Rev or 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The base Stingray LT1 is nice-equipped with features such as standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, Brembo racing-grade front and rear brakes and Bi Xenon HID headlamps. The Stingray LT1 sports an array of innovative technology features such as LCD touchscreen infotainment system that is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible, with a 4G WI-Fi hotspot. Other standard options include a premium Bose 9 speaker premium sound system, Driver Mode Select, dual-zone climate control and LCD color instrument panel display with rear view camera.

Stepping up to the Stingray LT2 trim nets a multitude premium options like heated power outside mirrors with auto dimming, a Bose 10-speaker premium audio system, curb view cameras, and heads up display. The top-of-the-line LT3 includes the racing data & video recorder, suede microfiber interior package, Napa leather interior package and the MyLink Navigation system.

The midrange Grand Sport shares many of the features and options with the Stingray with the exception of a wider back-end, enabling it to use wider rear wheels and tires for increased traction and handling. All Grand Sport trims come standard with performance exhaust for a boost in horsepower, a high-performance dry sump oil system and a Z06 front grille and rear spoiler. The Grand Sport is also available in the limited edition Carbon 65 trim.

The Z06 trim marks a dramatic uptick in performance with the 720 horsepower supercharged LT1 engine, aggressive-designed aerodynamic exterior and heads up display coming standard on all option packages. Modeled after the C7.R race car, the Z06 incorporates a litany of suspension and part upgrades to give its driver the edge on the road or the track.

The ZR1 is Chevrolet's fastest production line Corvette ever produced. The ZR1's cutting edge LT5 Eaton supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine cranks out a mammoth 755 horsepower and 715 lbs-ft of torque, while reaching blinding speeds upwards of 212 mph. With a plethora of high performance and luxury capabilities, this American supercar rivals and exceed its European counterparts that carry a much higher sticker price.

This powerful engine cranks out a hefty 460 horsepower with 465 lbs-ft of torque and the agility to reach 0-60-mph in a blazing 3.6 seconds.

For those looking for some extra juice, Chevy offers a supercharged version of the LT1 in its Z06 trim. The beefed up LT1 delivers a heart-pounding 650 horsepower and 650 lbs-ft of torque, hitting 0-60-mph in a blistering 2.95 seconds. Both LT1 motors are available in both 7-speed manual with Active Rev and 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The Corvette's supercar performance is complimented by its immaculately styled aerodynamic body; combining exhilarating acceleration with sophisticated elegance. This historic speedster also features the cutting edge Magnetic Selective Ride Control System, utilizing advanced automated dampers for superior control and precision handling.
