What's New for the 2022 Chevy Trax?

Change for the Chevy Trax in 2022 mostly lies beneath the hood. The Chevy Trax uses a new engine this year that provides the SUV with more power. The 2022 Trax now has a four-cylinder engine that can crank out 155 HP in power. Previously, the maximum amount of power that the Trax received with the engine was 138 HP. More torque is standard, and you'll get faster acceleration capabilities with the new power upgrade. The Trax is made in the same two trims, which are the LS and the LT. Both have an array of conveniences and standard items to start with, but more amenities are available through upgrades and packages.

2022 Trax Trims & Features

There are two trims available in the Chevy Trax lineup in 2022. The base model, called the LS, has cloth seats and two rows of seating for five. The back seats can split and fold flat for convenience and maximize cargo space when necessary. There are four cup holders distributed through the cabin as well. The passenger's seat is manually adjustable in two ways, while you can adjust the driver's seat in four ways. A power-operated driver's seat is optional if you choose to get the top trim, which comes with a separate package. Assist handles are standard with the LS and the LT. You'll get Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth with both trims, which also have a cabin air filtration system. Cloth and leatherette seats are upgraded on the second trim, with a 7-inch diagonal touchscreen and a color display screen. Chevrolet's Information 3 software is included for convenience. Heated seats and seating material upgraded to faux leather are available for the LT with an add-on package.

For power, the 2022 Chevy Trax comes with a four-cylinder engine with a 1.4L displacement. The engine cranks out 155 HP in power, and its torque output is 177 LB-FT. An automatic transmission comes with both trim levels. The Trax has a standard front-wheel drive, but you can upgrade to an all-wheel drive drivetrain instead.

For safety, the 2022 Chevy Trax has a standard rear vision camera. Other advanced safety aids are available, including rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking assistance. Blind-spot avoidance is also available. Both trims come with electronic stability control, 10 airbags, and seat belts for all occupants.
