In 2020, the Chevy Malibu carries over mostly unchanged from 2019, except some name changes to the sedan's packages and features. The 2020 Malibu also runs exclusively on a gasoline engine. There is no hybrid option this time around. This Malibu belongs to the ninth generation that debuted in 2016. While some amenities vary across the board, one common feature across all trims is a spacious cabin with plenty of headroom in the front seat. There are five trim levels of the 2020 Chevy Malibu starting with the L. Ten airbags, and a 12V power outlet is standard. It also gets a six-speaker audio system. Both the driver's seat and front passenger's seat can move in six ways. The base trim gets an eight-inch diagonal touchscreen display. A driver's information comes standard, as do carpeted floor mats in the front. Keyless entry makes it easy to get in the car and go. Interior lighting makes it easier to see in the dark, while a rear vision camera helps you reverse with confidence and ease. The second trim level, called the LS, comes with even more standard amenities. A 4G WiFi hotspot is standard starting on this trim. More packages are available to give the LS a custom look, including an interior protection package and several convenience packages. The RS adds an eight-way adjustable driver's seat and higher-end interior touches, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob. Dual-zone air conditioning and heated front seats come standard on the LT, and you can add on several driver confidence packages. More safety features are included in this trim. The Premier also gets a 120V power outlet. It also gets an eight-inch driver information display and a premium Bose sound system with nine speakers. Wireless charging is standard, and premium leather seats are available.

How Well does the 2020 Malibu Perform?

This engine produces up to 160 HP at 5,700 RPM, and it generates up to 184 LB-FT of torque between 2,500 and 3,000 RPM. The second engine also has four cylinders, but it has a larger 2.0L capacity and turbo power. This engine reaches 250 HP at 5,300 RPM and 260 LB-FT of torque at a maximum RPM of 5,000. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard with the top engine.
