The 2019 Chevy Trax is a continuation of the 2018 model. As such, the car does not feature many significant changes from what was available in the previous version. The car builds on the Trax generation introduced in the market by Chevrolet in 2015.
The 2019 Chevy Trax is available in three trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier. The base trim level LS comes fitted with external features such as 16-inch steel wheels, power-adjustable manual-folding side mirrors, auto headlights, a keyless entry, and a rearview camera. The interior features include cloth upholstery, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, driver power lumbar adjustment, 60/40-split for rear seats, and air conditioning. The model also comes with the OnStar communications feature that includes a 4D LTE connection with Wi-Fi hotspot. The car also comes with manufacturer's MyLink infotainment system, which has a 7.0-inch LCD touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The users of the car also get two USB ports and a six-speaker audio sound system.
On top of the features available for the base trim level, the LT adds features like LED daytime running lights, roof rails, heated mirrors, LED tail lights, upgraded headlights, cruise control, upgraded cloth upholstery, remote vehicle ignition, and a storage drawer beneath the passenger seat, a satellite radio, and a 110-V power outlet for the backseat. Alloy wheels and front-wheel drive have also been added in the trim level.
The 2019 Chevy Trax power output is somehow low although it still performed well during our test drive. The car features a 1.4 L turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers 138 hp and a torque of 148 pound-feet. The front-wheel drive is standard for all trim levels while the all-wheel-drive will require an upgrade. The engine is coupled with a six-speed auto transmission. The fuel economy of the new Trax stands at a combined 28 mpg with 25 mpg city and 33 mpg highway for the front-wheel-drive model. The all-wheel-drive offers a slightly lower fuel economy with a combined EPA of 27 mpg, 24 mpg in the city, and 30 mpg on the highway.
The new Chevy Trax has undergone various crash tests and has performed relatively well. The model has a rearview camera, 10 airbags, and stability control as standard safety features. Additionally, the Chevy Trax has all of the safety features you have grown to know and love from the Chevrolet brand. With all of these in mind, it is clear that this vehicle is safe for trips with your family.
