What's New for the 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe?

The new model season is upon us and no matter how long a vehicle has been on the market, there's bound to be something new to look for.

The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe is no exception. Now over two decades old, the Tahoe has gone through numerous transformations over the years. However, as this is the fifth year of the fourth-generation model, extensive changes have not been made from the previous model year. Speculation is this is the last model year in the fourth-generation before the first fifth-generation model is released next year.

New Features for a Great Trim Lineup

Two colors have been removed from the exterior options -- Havana Metallic and Tungsten Metallic. In their place is one new available color -- Shadow Gray Metallic.

The Premier models of the 2019 Tahoe receive a few extra goodies. Besides a Premier badge on the tailgate, they also have two-tone leather front seats and interior, polished 22-inch wheels, and a set of power-retractable side steps for easy access in and out of the SUV.

For 2019, Chevrolet continues the trend of internet capability within their vehicles. A built-in 4G LTE WiFi hotspot is available in both the standard and premiere models. This helps drivers lower costs and usage on their mobile networks as well as maintains a steady signal no matter where they travel.

A More Powerful Engine for 2019

2019 Chevrolet TahoeChevrolet heard the suggestions of consumers who wanted a more powerful engine but didn't want to pay for it in the Rally Sports Truck (RST) model. For 2019, the company created a Premier Plus category for the full-sized SUV models like the Tahoe and Suburban.

This allows them to place a 6.2-liter, V8 engine under the hood. Not only does it allow for a powerful 420 horsepower but also a 10-speed automatic transmission for rear wheel or four-wheel drive. Plus, it gives Chevrolet an opportunity to maintain its Best In Fuel Economy status for highway driving with a V8 engine.

No Compromises on Safety

2019 Chevrolet TahoeWhat may become standard safety features in future base Tahoe models are now featured in the premier version. Some of the items which enhance the safety of performance and operation include Magnetic Ride Control suspension with performance calibration and a driver-side, heads-up display so they don't need to take their eyes off of the road.

The Tahoe has been a solid seller for Chevrolet as well as a Kelly Blue Book Award winner. The 2019 model should be no exception when it comes to performance and features. Get a good look at (and a test drive) the 2019 Chevy Tahoe at Van Chevrolet in Scottsdale.
