New Corvette Concepts To Inspire the Future of Corvette Design

While neither of these dramatic Corvette concept cars will go into production, they offer an exciting look at Chevrolet's future styling and engineering. The Corvette CX and the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo reflect the creativity of Chevy's global design team and highlight the company's performance lineage.

Corvette CX Concept

Conceived as a street-legal supercar, the Corvette CX has a commanding, aggressive stance. Its ultra-wide track and sculpted bodywork are designed to turn heads. A particularly striking feature is the fighter-jet-style canopy that automatically opens as you approach.

Power comes from an AWD electric setup with four motors. Chevy lists the figure at an astonishing 2,000 horsepower for blistering performance. The lithium-ion battery is mounted low in the chassis to help with weight distribution, and four-wheel torque vectoring improves handling balance. The Corvette CX also employs a Vacuum Fan System to channel air through its open bodywork and increase downforce.

Inside, the cockpit is driver-centric and trimmed with upscale materials like forged carbon fiber. A digital windscreen supplies real-time performance information, and many controls are integrated into the sporty steering wheel to reduce distractions.

Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept

The CX.R Vision Gran Turismo is a purpose-built track car that appears in Gran Turismo 7. This mid-engine racer is powered by a twin-turbo V8 making 900 horsepower and revs to an astonishing 15,000 rpm. Three electric motors supplement the engine for a combined output of 2,000 horsepower, and renewable e-fuel keeps performance sustainable.

Because it's designed solely for track use, the CX.R Vision Gran Turismo sports a stripped-down interior to save weight. The heavily bolstered seats hold occupants securely during high-speed turns.
