The Corvette ZR1X and ZR1 are now the Fastest Cars from an American Manufacturer at Nürburgring Nordschleife Circuit

The iconic Chevrolet Corvette remains a force in the performance car world. Track testing reveals the Corvette ZR1X and ZR1 are now the fastest cars from an American manufacturer, spotlighting Chevy's ability to build world-class performance vehicles.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

Even with a non-professional racecar driver at the helm, the Corvette ZR1 ran a 6:50.763 lap at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. This mid-engine powerhouse is driven by a 5.5L, twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 rated at 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque.

The new Corvette ZR1 delivers thrilling acceleration and a top speed of 233 mph, along with razor-sharp handling. The optional ZTK Performance Package helps extract the best lap times and includes several truck-focused upgrades, such as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and a unique aero kit. On the street, the ZR1 still offers refinement with standard features such as a Bose premium sound system, a Rear Camera Mirror, and a high-resolution infotainment screen with Google Built-in.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X

The Corvette ZR1X takes that performance further. It shares the same engine but adds an electric front-drive unit to boost output to 1,250 horsepower. The ZR1X recorded a 6:49.275 lap at the Nürburgring. Its advanced eAWD system continually monitors tire conditions to ensure maximum grip.
