Chevrolet Reveals Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype at Daytona

Just ahead of this year's “legendary DAYTONA 500 race,” Chevrolet introduced the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype. Although it didn't hit the asphalt, this concept offered a peek at future electric race cars. Here are the top highlights of the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype.

High-Performance Electric Powertrain

Rather than a V8, the Blazer EV.R NASCAR Prototype is propelled by an all-electric powertrain. Its three six-phase motors produce about 1,300 horsepower and rev to 15,000 rpm.

Power is distributed via a programmable all-wheel drive system for pinpoint torque control. It is built on a modified Next Gen chassis and features race-spec suspension parts and Goodyear Racing Eagle tires.

True Race Car Styling

Its design is based on the “road-going Chevrolet Blazer SS EV,” but the EV.R's racing upgrades stand out. A broad body and high rear wing optimize aerodynamics, while its very low stance aids grip in tight corners.

Motorsports Innovation

Chevrolet uses the EV.R NASCAR Prototype to trial advanced racing tech, laying the groundwork for future motorsports and production vehicles.
