Powering the record-setting Corvette ZR1 is a twin-turbocharged, 5.5-liter DOHC V8 engine. Chevy asserts that this engine delivers a staggering 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. Its flat-plane crankshaft permits it to achieve an impressive redline of 8,000 rpm. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission efficiently transfers power to the rear wheels. The Corvette ZR1 accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds.
