The Corvette ZR1 Hits 233 MPH With GM President Mark Reuss Driving

The all-new 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is already making a name for itself as one of the fastest production cars ever. General Motors President Mark Reuss recently drove the ZR1 on a track in Germany, reaching an astonishing top speed of 233 mph. No other production vehicle under $1 million has achieved this kind of performance. The Corvette ZR1 consistently broke 230 mph during multiple test runs, setting a new record for American-made performance cars.

Fastest GM Car to Date

Under the 2025 Corvette ZR1 hood is a 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-plane crank V8 engine that produces a jaw-dropping 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. GM reports that this allows the ZR1 to run a quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds. With a redline of 8,000 rpm, drivers can expect an adrenaline-pumping experience behind the wheel. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission delivers smooth and fast gear changes. The ZR1 also features a carbon fiber aero package that generates 1,200 pounds of downforce for exceptional handling.

More Than Just Speed

While the Corvette ZR1's performance is awe-inspiring, its design is just as striking. The return of the iconic split rear window adds to its appeal and helps cool the engine. Available in bold colors like Competition Yellow Tintcoat Metallic and Torch Red, the ZR1 turns heads wherever it goes. It rides on 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels, giving it an aggressive stance.

Inside, the driver-centric cabin offers luxury features, including a unique performance steering wheel. Optional upgrades include a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, Nappa leather seats, and a curb-view front camera.
