When you buy a new vehicle, Chevrolet wants you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. To provide an even better experience for new car owners, Chevrolet sells its new vehicles with factory warranties, which provide varying levels of coverage for your car. If you have a factory warranty on your vehicle, the cost of repairing or replacing defective or broken original components is covered for a certain time or mileage. Chevrolet's electric and hybrid cars also have additional warranties.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
The factory Powertrain Limited Warranty from Chevrolet lasts five years or a maximum of 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty will cover repairs, and replacement for components in the car's powertrain system, provided it has an engine that qualifies under warranty. In the 1500 light-duty truck series, the Powertrain Limited Warranty covers the 3.0L turbo diesel engine and also the 6.6L diesel V8 engine on the 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty series for up to 100,000 miles or five years.
Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty
Chevrolet's Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty covers your vehicle for repairs and replacement parts necessary for original components that break under normal use or are defective. The warranty will last up to either 36,000 miles or three years, whichever mark comes first. The warranty applies to all vehicles, regardless of the type of powertrain they use.
Emission Control System Warranty
The emissions control system in a new Chevrolet is also covered through a warranty. The emissions warranty provides part repair and replacement coverage for the first two years of ownership or the first 24,000 miles that you drive. Some parts are covered up to 80,000 miles or eight years.
Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Warranty
Along with the factory standard Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty, Chevrolet equips its new hybrid and electric cars with a separate powertrain warranty. This warranty covers the cost of replacing specific manufacturer components in a hybrid or electric vehicle for the first 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
MPP Plans
Some Chevrolet owners find that they want additional vehicle protection beyond what the standard factory warranties provide. Extra protection for your vehicle is also available through MPP plans offered by Van Chevrolet, which provide extended service contract coverage, lease wear protection, and GAP coverage. Plans are available for new and older Chevrolet vehicles.
