First Look at the All-New 2018 Chevrolet Traverse

New Chevy Traverse for Sale Scottsdale AZ

Earlier this month at the Detroit Auto Show, Chevy revealed its latest model redesign much to the excitement of automotive enthusiasts and critics. The 2018 Traverse is a total bombshell, showing off a hot new design and setting course to deliver best-in-class cargo space, passenger volume and third row legroom.

What's Changed on the Traverse?

When the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse arrives in our Scottsdale showroom later this fall, it’s sure to be an instant best-seller. The mid-size SUV gets an ultra-sleek new look, integrating more premium design elements from LED signature lighting to chrome trim. Both the front and back ends have been completely redesigned with more modern features that solidify the SUV as a fashionable choice for a family hauler. Additionally, the Traverse gains a few inches on its wheelbase, making it even more spacious and comfortable for its eight passengers.

Two new trim levels will be added for 2018: RS and High Country. The sporty RS trim adds blacked-out treatments to the grille, wheels and bowties as well as an exclusive engine option. High Country becomes the lineup's pinnacle of comfort and sophistication, adding luxuries like polished 20-inch wheels, D-Optic headlamps, brown leather and suede seating, and a twin-clutch advanced all-wheel drive system.

What's New Under the Hood?

The 2018 Traverse will get two new engines, a notable change since the past generation of the SUV was only offered with a singular engine. An updated 3.6-liter V6 is standard, increasing horsepower output by almost 10 percent compared to outgoing configuration. Plus, the new V6 will also boost fuel economy ratings, a big highlight for families trying to cut back on consumption.

The second option is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, and comes on the new Traverse RS. Both the inline-4 and the V6 are mated to a brand-new nine-speed automatic transmission. The new Traction Mode Select dial is also featured on all models (pictured below).
