Mark Your Calendars for the Christmas at the Princess 8th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Christmas at the Princess

Did you know we have our own little winter wonderland right here in Scottsdale? When the holiday season rolls around, the beautiful Fairmont Scottsdale Princess transforms into a mini North Pole, complete with millions of lights, an ice-skating rink, holiday character meet-and-greets, a S’mores Land and, of course, a four-story Christmas tree.

The celebration kicks off on Nov. 22 with the annual tree lighting ceremony. Drawing hundreds of spectators each year, the giant tree is quite a spectacular sight to see. Over 70,000 colorful lights and a five-foot tree topper are used to light up its branches, all of which are musically animated and “dance” along to a total of 17 different holiday songs. Even if you miss the ceremony, you can still see it in action every night from 6-9 p.m. until the season ends on Jan. 1.

Lagoon Lights also starts on Nov. 22, brightening up the grounds with over 4.5 million twinkling bulbs. Visitors can opt to walk or take a train ride through the lagoon, which is thoroughly decorated with gorgeous 2-D and 3-D displays, including a pirate ship, a whale, penguins, a mermaid and a 30-ft Loch Ness Monster.
